A country where half of its farmland has been returned to biological health: where the food is more nutritious, the water is cleaner, the wildlife has returned, the farmers have equity in the land, and the rural communities have an economic future. That is what 50% of America's farmland in 50 years means.
In a multi-layered system, Earth Face Ag buys degraded farm land, heals it, trains the farmers, sells the land, and brings vitality back to the communities and creatures dependent on our agriculture. Our approach not only finds a healthy return for investors, but breathes life back into the beautiful art of American farming.
Conventional farming is unsustainable, and so are the jobs that come with it. By generating the land supply, offering the necessary education, and providing career opportunities, we will turn what is an appetizing investment into a mass of good intentioned, well trained regenerative agriculture activists.
Earth Face Ag's 50-year mission is achieved not by accumulating land, but by creating a community rallied around the restoration of our land. By tying together a series of ongoing market trends and social changes, EFA is positioning itself at the center of a movement that is inevitable.
Buying degraded land, restoring, selling restored and buying degraded again is what provides the financial returns. The Lead Stewards and their trainees are what make the 50-year goal attainable.
Our Core Values
Humility of Mind
We all have more to learn. New information often comes from a source you least expect. Although each person brings with them a pre-existing area of expertise, this significance of knowledge should not obstruct your ability to grow. By approaching each day with a humility of mind, we will be able to admit when we are wrong, celebrate the knowledge of others, and collaborate in a genuine manner resulting in highly effective solutions.
Urgency of Purpose
The mission of Earth Face Ag is one that seems impossible to most people familiar with the obstacles. If any chance exists to restore 50% of America’s Farmland in 50 Years, it will require a team of people operating with an extreme urgency of purpose. While respecting nature’s timeline is a key component of our work, that pace should stand in sharp contrast to the pace of our people. Leveraging every day to its fullest potential is non-negotiable in a pursuit as grand as ours.
Promotion of Life
At the most basic level, the goal of Earth Face Ag is to breathe life back into America’s soil. Restoring the land means restoring the things that live in and on the land. As we navigate the complexities of this mammoth undertaking, our people must see, acknowledge, and accept opportunities to support life in all forms. If done correctly, our work enables all kinds of lifeforms to exist in harmony with each other. It is every team member’s responsibility to promote life on a daily basis, in ways both big and small.
Hopeful Perseverance
Achieving the goal of Earth Face Ag will only be possible by overcoming a litany of enormous problems. As is natural, most would default to a state of discouragement when faced with these obstacles. It is imperative that each team member accept responsibility for enforcing their own hopeful perseverance, and meeting every opportunity to encourage the hopeful perseverance of others. It is the worst of challenges that will, in the end, provide the greatest reward. Each of us should feel hopeful in the face of challenge, because it means we are working on something significant.
